Jim is a third generation painter who began his painting career in 1978 and obtained his Certification of Apprentice in 1981. He then obtained his painting Contractors License in 1988, partnering with his father who began Stockton Painting & Decorating in 1977. He assumed operations and continued for 8 more years prior joining the Turman team in 1996. In addition to estimating his own work, in his role of Chief Estimator he supervises and trains all estimating staff, assists in sales training, project management and field supervision. His involvement and oversight of our Denver, CO office have helped contribute to its success. His 35+ years of experience and knowledge make him a key member of the Turman leadership team.
In the 18 years plus that Jim has been with Turman, he has completed management and training courses such as FMI, Sandler Sales and Dale Carnegie. Product training includes Albi Intumescent Coatings, Scuffmaster coatings, SWRI (Sealants, Water-proofing and Restoration Institute) and Mold remediation.
Jim has been married to his wife Darline for 35 years. Together they have three grown children, a daughter, Lindsay, and sons Justin and Andrew, and three grandchildren. Away from the office Jim enjoys riding his Harley, golfing and spending as much time with his grandchildren as possible.
